Consulting art director for brand audit, logo, visual identity, and web design as well as portrait photography for Lembas Capital
Lembas Capital is a Manhattan-based fund that believes new ways to source or construct information create alpha.
Lembas believes that capital markets are information markets. The information landscape is shifting rapidly, but few funds build their own software tools. In fact, the median number of software engineers at a fundamental micro fund is 0. Most fund managers rely on the same third-party products (especially if we exclude earnings-release traders). Yet if you speak with any fundamental investor, you’ll find that every one of them suffers from filter failure – i.e. they could benefit from better ways to filter information and generate ideas. A window has opened for fundamental investors who can thrive in this new environment.
Lembas Capital was founded upon the recognition of this opportunity.
The fund needed portrait photography that reflected its sense of place. Likewise, its web design needed reworking to showcase its New York roots and its approach to investing.
STUDIO 56 did a brand audit for Lembas Capital to help the fund streamline its visual identity as well as give the fund a blueprint for its web design. The deep indigo color of the logo and serif font family are classic choices to promote a sense of trust in the fund. The homepage points to the founder’s investment credo and each subsequent page gives the founder the platform to share macro questions that inform daily strategy.
The map on the homepage and the founder’s hand drawn signature under the fund’s Credo reflect the personal and humanistic approach the fund has to its clients.
